Older Adults

Their faces wear the past

Experience in each fold, wrinkle

Minds a treasure trove of knowledge

Irreverent eyes never fail to twinkle

Encourage youthful exploration,

Curiousity to soar, reach for infinity

Give evolving intelligence confidence

To challenge conformity

Inspire imagination to take flight

Insist dreams embryonic ambitions

Firmly inculcate perserverance 

Will lead to fruition

Promote sense of humour

Opine it is life's greatest tool

Combined with compassion

Spirit's indispensable fuel

Teach empathy with each heartbeat

Fortitude in adversity

Spread wisdom in their wake

Alongside petals of generosity

So please value our older adults 

Shower them with love, attention

Learn from their example

And nurture future generations
