Old Faithful

Vestiges of pride remain

She clings onto fragile dignity

Concentrates on reknotting

Unravelling threads of sanity

Keeps herself clean

Alcohol confined to night

Tots of whisky aid sleep

Sipped under moonlight

Cardboard village is quiet

Heads for her spot

Amongst decomposing lives

Poignant human rot

Twilight casts shadows

Stars illuminate way

Old faithful clinks in rucksack

End of another day
