In Solitude

This poetry describes the deep forest under dark sky.

————

The night hangs heavy and gray,

with utter silence and gloom.

Afloat on pitch-dark ocean,

a lonely huge pearl

with scanty stars, and

lights turn off in a distant house.

Like a sack left on the floor,

an owl perched silently among

the shadows, in solitude.

He squeezed his wings in the

blue moonlight, and his hoot

made a shimmer in the wilderness.
