Ghostly Remains

Halfway up a winding hill

Monastery ruins decay

Surrounded by majestic oaks

Leaves whisper, branches sway

Muted sound of childish glee

Lingers in the cold damp air

Shadowy small forms move

Hide and seek without a care

Haunting, poignant sadness

Pervades over all

Soft, as tender kisses,

Hazy rain begins to fall
