Fears We Dare Not Name

What if the sea loses its salinity

Stars its lustre

And the great lion sheds its mane

What if the peacock refuses to dance on a rainy day

Will we see the new or the unique very few

What if the pigeons no longer stand for peace

Spread only filth

What if the sadhus become atheist

And the idols disappear

Spirituality translates into religion

Will we worship the idol or the deity

Seek spirituality or follow religion

Bizarre are these questions

Or is it the fears in our imagination

Answers may arise

Giving birth to more bizarre questions
