Endless Free Fall
This is about the trauma of those things that come out of nowhere and change your entire life in a split second.
————
A bomb exploded in my world today.
It came without warning.
It blew apart my sense of life,
The sense of safety I was forming,
I can't identify all my feelings.
I can identify only fear.
Right and wrong have changed their meaning.
And what makes sense is no longer clear.
I know the bomb has changed my life.
But I don’t know precisely why.
I can’t find a way to anchor myself
Because all I can do is cry.
What does this bomb mean?
Does it have meaning at all?
I can't seem to get a sense of myself
I feel like I'm tumbling in freefall.
I live in fear of the bombs of life
They come with no warning at all.
They spin me around, set me in flight.
They condemn me to endless freefall.
