Dad, Will You...

Dad, Will You Ever Comeback?

I remember being a six year old standing behind the door to scare him,

The look on his face was priceless,

After a busy day at work I was his win.

I remember asking him to clean shave his beard,

It’s prickly, I said, it might hurt me I feared.

I remember the time when I asked to iron his shirt,

You could see the entire world from the burnt hole I created,

With a smile he said, don’t worry about Ma,

“It was I who did this” to her he elaborated.

I remember waiting till 9 for him to bring gifts on my birthday,

It was a chilly night,

And with every passing wave of wind,

He went away.

Dad? Will you comeback?

I see you everyday, but-

Dad? Will you comeback?

I talk to you everyday, but-

Dad? Will you ever comeback?

I am still standing behind that door.
