Cheers to Cherry Blossoms

Unlike the rest of us in 2020,  

cherry blossoms don’t stay closed.

Neither do they hide

during the lockdown.

Under the warm sun, they fill

the season with their flourishing,

and touch each other  

with the tips of their branches.

They stand together

against gusts of wind

and virus-shaped clouds

until they all fall.
