Be At Ease
/Stay
For a minute
Talk nonsense
Lift my spirit
Go on
Make me laugh
Always did, evident
In old photographs
You and me
Huddled in a corner
Bodies leant
Against the other
Uncontrollable giggles
Knew each other's mind
Unconditional support
Two of a kind
Best of friends
Rarely apart
Until I spoke
With my heart
Mentioned
Those three words
Did not realise
Until afterwards
My mistake
For you did not love me
As I did you
All changed instantly
And I grieved
Time has passed
No longer bereaved
So sit by my side
Chat awhile
Not asking more
Be at ease, smile
