Are You Going To Wear That?

This flash-fiction and the upcoming short pieces are a small intro to my upcoming novel 'The Man in the Tux'.

It was another same day when Charlie was being scolded by Daniel. A quiet cold war was about to start between the two. Both of them were glaring at each other to death.

Stan was looking over them, enjoying the show, “When are you going to stop this.”

“Not until Charlie throws this dusty old piece of old in the trash.”

Charlie looked over at the rectangular plastic bag which was kept on the bed. He arched his brow, “uhh, you call this baggy?”

“Yes, it’s baggy, old-fashioned, and a total piece of crap.”

“It’s of my Grandpa.” Charlie cried.

“So, you’re going to wear this shit in such an important party.”

“Whatever,” Charlie flopped down on the bed. “If I’m going there I’ll only wear this suit. I’m only going because you’re being stubborn.”

“You’re stubborn.” Daniel sat beside Charlie. He glanced at Stan, “how do you even handle him, Stan? Your Godchild is sooo...uhm...what can I say.” He shrugged.

“Don’t include me,” Stan said. “Let me live in peace. I’ve already gone through too much mentally”

Charlie inclined to the side to face his Godfather. “I second you, Stan. It has been months but I still remember every moment of it when you kidnapped me.”

“Ha..” Stan gave a big smile to Charlie.

Charlie’s lips twisted upwards.

“Hey.” Daniel stood up and shouted.

“Yes,” Stan said with a straight face.

Daniel grabbed the plastic bag from the bed and looked at both of them. “Get over with it and you, Charlie, are not going to wear this. I’ll save it for some other time.” Daniel left the room. Stan gave a shrug leaving Charlie bewildered on the bed.
