A Little Girl

When I was a little girl

I had no fear

I wore pink dresses and white pearls

I wasn't as fragile as I appeared

I spoke my mind without a thought

Confident in my ways

I loved the feeling my certainty brought

I was bold like a golden sun ray

I got attention for being myself

A trait I don't carry today

I wish I could find that girl

I've lost connection with her over time

I've become insecure

I've slowly descended the climb

If I could find the girl I've lost

I could go about my life without a sacrificing cost
