A Desired Want, Your Gifted Need

“You can’t always get what you want, you can’t always get what you want,

but if you try sometime,

you might just find,

you get what you need.”

Rolling Stones

I am stuck in a void between what I want and what I need.

There I see you in the want, and another in the need.

You are in a dream of desire and mystery, the unknown. The other is reality of agape love and understanding.

You are silent, unwilling to communicate, all through my attempts to connect have been thwarted aside.

The other, I have fully expressed myself leaving no subject off limits, we communicate without hesitation, even talking about you.

The common bond of you and the other is the ‘arts.’

You pretend to be other people on stage while the other seeks reality in black and white photographs. Both of you are driven by creativity and ego and the insecurities that come from that.

You are dynamic, the other static. You need movement to create your craft, the other a camera, a desk and an editing program.

You are a vision, the other my reflection. You avoid, the other commits.

The answer should be pretty simple ya think, yet in the still of the night and when the sand man has lost his way, my body wants you, my soul needs the other.
