Poor things

It’s not their fault they faced rejection

They’ve done nothing wrong

Except maybe show themselves too soon

To the wrong suitors

Unworthy of their greatness

Whispered words of reassurance

And the compassion of self-love

In the meantime, will be enough

To keep them warm in the shadows

Where they wait patiently

To shine
