Last Kiss

Under gray clouds,

She met her lover

'Neath the willow tree,

Melting together as

One, wind swayed

Branches as their

Bodies loved, rain

Arrived in drops, then

Pelting sheets

Obscuring them

From the world,

In their nest of love

They kissed one

Final time before,

With shoulders back,

He left to war and

'Neath the willow tree

She wept.
