A Day In Life

The alarm blares, wake,

Shower, dress, coffee,

Usual morning routine,

Car to the station,

Train into the city, grab

A paper, join the rush

To fill the office, lunch

From a brown bag, 

Clock ticks slower as

The day passes, desks

Empty, crowded station

Platform, pay the 

Parking fee, drive home,

Stopping for takeout,

Candles and wine, alone

And at peace, Ella on

The turntable, another

Day over.
