You Do Not Exist
I wrote this poem during a difficult time of my life. The poem was selected and published in an anthology. My situation changed after I married a beautiful woman.
————
I walk randomly from one street to another
while walking I try to hold your hands
But I can not touch your soft hands
because you do not exist,
you never did
I go for a candle light dinner
through the light of the candle I try to see your lovely face
But all I see is darkness
because you do not exist,
you never did
I go to a masquerade
I ask the guests to take off their masks
but I do not find you behind any mask
because you do not exist,
you never did
I write your name on the snow
my hand bleeds from frostbite
Painfully I look at your name but there is none
because you do not exist,
you never did
