Grey Thoughts

This Empty Heart

Your face fast fades though still recalled

In photographs to spare

And how you dressed accessorised,

Your things are all still there.

Your voice I have on media

I listen everyday

I close my eyes and make believe

You never went away

Mementos, trinkets, souvenirs

With which the shelves are lined

Remember days we had before

A comfort to the mind

I miss the scent of you, the sense of you

Soft touch against my skin

And how you made me so so mad

But calmed me with that grin.

I hate you sometimes, how could you

Leave me so alone

And would you turn those eyes away

Or see how old I've grown?

I loved you then as I love you now

And could never love again

This empty heart can fill no more

The hollowest of men
