The Stranger In Me
There's a stranger in the mirror staring back at me.
Who is this woman? Why won't she leave me be?
Although we bare resemblances, that I can't deny,
Our differences are profound, like the sadness in her eyes.
Me! I am happy. I smile and laugh and play.
Her, her soul is dying a little more each day.
Friends! I have plenty. A social butterfly am I.
She just wants left alone, where no one can see her cry.
I am very vocal, talking to everyone around.
She keeps her words inside her, afraid to make a sound.
I am nothing like this stranger I see inside the mirrors.
So why do I hear her screams and feel the sting of her tears?
