The Sound of Time
Does time make a sound as it's passing by?
If we sit quiet can we hear time if we try?
Is it the sound of a clock with it's tic and it's toc?
Is that father time in disguise with his steady knock knock?
Or is it time we hear crying out loud in the night?
From the voice of a newborn seeing it's first sight?
Or does it sound like the laughter of little children at play?
Or perhaps crickets chirping at the end of a long day?
Is time heard in the silence when we feel all alone?
Or in trees crackling and bending to the whim of wind blown?
Maybe time sounds loud like thunder as it crashes.
Or the rhythmic sound of a rain storm while lightning flashes.
Or is it the sound of time we hear as lungs rattle to draw one last breath?
Yet time forever keeps going, untouched by death.
Ever forward time goes, leaving moments that never come back.
Like a never ending train, path set to go forward, always on track.
If we sit quiet can we hear time if we try?
Does time make a sound as it's passing by?
Just listen to a baby cry it's first cry.
Listen to the last breath taken when time has passed by.
Everyone of the seconds, minutes and days that go by, making the years of a lifetime fly.
Listen and you'll hear father time in disguise, he's saying "now is the time! Because times passing by!"
