The Miserables
A royal prince strolled in his garden
Peeking and enjoying the fragrance of flowers.
Unfamiliar with the shortages of life
For his abode was a country within the country
Stuffed with all the comforts and joys required.
Got hungry? There lay the banquet of dishes.
Felt bored? He could enjoy the dances and music.
Longed for an outing? The Royal armies would take him anywhere he intended.
Torn wardrobe? In the blink of the eyes he would get a new one.
What would one desire for when dwelling such comforts of life?
But alas! He felt some sort of lackings!
The Royal blood prevented his crave for roaming freely
His yearanings for having foods like a folklore
And the zeal of living some days out like a peasant.
Outside the wall of the palace was a decent man
Lost into the hustle and bustle of life
Able to join hands to mouth twice a day
Nevertheless wondered about the grand lavish life inside the palace
The thrill of being guarded by the Royal guards
So that one would always be secured.
The aroma of Royal banquets filling one’s nostrills.
The ecstasy achieved in a place full of comforts.
How amazing it would be to summon the armies in one command?
How marvellous it would be to make them do anything?
All it would take was nothing but an order from him.
In the meantime, the whistle of the cooker blew
Then had the food getting itself served.
Took a long sigh and lay on his bed
Covered himself with a rough blanket
Nonetheless kept on wondering about
The grandeurness of life inside the palace.
