Patience

A farmer has a cutlass in hand, before him stretches of grass to be mowed. The heat from the sun is enervating, yet he pays no attention.

He pays no attention, to his aching back and waist. He is not discouraged by the little work done so far as against the vast unfinished job ahead.

Little by little he presses on, on and on till the last grass falls. It seemed impossible at the onset. He looks back at the unbelievable feat.

He will look back on this again to inspire him to sow, to water and tender the crops till harvest time. For every step of the way, he will need to look back on past achievements to remind him that he’s done it before.

This business you’ve began

This new program you’ve enrolled to study

This new cause you’ve decided to champion

This ground you’ve decided to stand

This voice you’ve dedicated yourself to be

This war you are determined to fight

Those souls you’ve made your life mission to reach out to

This relationship you are convinced is worth fighting for and keeping together

Don’t be discouraged when you look ahead and there seems much to be done as against what you have done already. Like the farmer and the stretches of weed ahead of him, never give up. Never be discouraged. Keep at it, little by little till one day you can look back with joy at a job well-done and worth-remembering.
