Old Newspaper
In the metropolis, rain and wind blow
the thrown-away newspapers
through empty plots of land
and around my feet.
When the evening settles down
gas-powered street lamps are lit.
Yellow newspapers wrap
my purchases in a thrift store,
take-out foods along streets and stalls,
cheap objects bought in a gift shop.
In the countryside,
I peruse the old newspaper
lighted by a kerosene lamp.
