My Weakness
My strength escaped when our eyes locked;
not knowing the combination to peel away,
I swallowed hard and gave a nervous smile.
I used to be alive,
feeling dead inside cracks
and sliver splinters in my brittle bones,
but your love replenished my broken dreams.
Your hair swings across your eyes,
like the terror of drifting across a frozen lake,
keeps me wide awake.
I fall in love with the guilt of being unworthy of her love.
I love myself enough to hate us being together.
