Morning Raaga
Morning Raaga (Sounds)
A way to start the day.
————
He danced into my ear, an hour and more. She cradled my soul in her little arms, sleeping peacefully through the night. I packed fruits for the big girl to collect nectar as I watch her go filling a lotha to offer to the morning sun. I clasped my hands to prayer. Is there anything more profound that this sense of joy so smoothly flowing? The music is playing and I must get up to dance. This aged body forgot its rhythm, the knee protests. Don’t stop! What’s that about sorrow to follow joy? Don’t talk now. Something mystical is happening. I’ll keep the door open. Look. Listen. He is singing, “Ragupati ragava raja ram.” I’ve got to get up and check my blood pressure. It must be high, that’s how I fly.
Poetry is prayer
It is everywhere
Faith over fear.
