Inka’s Curse Part 40
There were some remains of a wall. Finally, I could begin to smell the burning of what was left of Oakheart. There must have been at least twenty creatures camping inside what was left of the small village. These creatures must be working for the dragon. They brought me into the camp. They brought me to a tent in the center of the encampment. It was bigger than the others but not lavish. One of them said to me, “Wait here. I will announce you to him.”
He had become the new king. He’s living in the fifth village. He has the villagers rebuild the village while in his human form he becomes the new ruler of the kingdom.
Soon I was brought before him. The dragon gazed at me. He tells me that Rachel can finally retire.
“Now that I’ve got nothing to do can I start fishing with you?”
“Don’t forget you promised to train me,” I said. “Only if you’ve got something to teach me. I can teach you to fish if that counts.”
“Ok deal.”
I move out of my aunt’s inn and move into a small cozy house with Rachel close to the entrance to see Titan. After everything that happened, he had feelings for me. I told him that I loved him only like a brother and I hope we could continue being best friends. He had a strange smile and said that Rachel was my best friend but that he understood. He has become closer to Lilo. as Rachel and I leave to the beach we joke with him to invite us to their wedding.
Rachel is fishing while I am fighting off the giant crab. I’ve gotten used to my new arm. Sometimes I forget that it’s not real. Usually when I’m going to sleep. But then Rachel reminds me to take it off.
The salt-filled winds dust my face gently. We walked towards the setting sun. The water is calm. I’m lost in thought as I watch the dazzling blue sky. She raised her head and flared her nostrils enjoying the smell of the sea breeze. Seagulls circled over screeching. As the moon rises she began to transform into a grey wolf. She howled.
