In The Desert…
IN THE DESERT (To the one who covers me with nothing but inane sands)
The cold tongue
which longs
for the warmth
of home water
spills dreams
and promises
that runs away
with sandstorms
unto oblivion
the frozen words
of the arid desert
fall on tiny feet
dragged by nevers
to a crystal nowhere
a parched grain of sand
for a drop of quenching tear
how cruel
the truth
out there
in the desert
is a lie ---
turbulent sun
and inclement sands
distort everything---
the second
it reaches
home
where all is
as it should be,
the nostalgic heart---
which once spoke
of sandcastles---
now rubbed with the
soothing balms
returns to its
true nature:
a tempestuous
sandstorm.
