Faith A Foundation Virtue

Faith is an intrinsic value that people are born with. As we grow in awareness we develop faith in our monitory systems, culture, community, religion, government and values. It is a foundation virtue that our belief systems are built. We trust what we are told and see. Throughout our life faith is reinforced through social connections, education, providing for self and a need to belong. If any parts of the social order are ruinous challenged, then faith begins to shake. As a consequence of faith being connected to an external label or role that people apply to themselves or others it quivers.

Challenges come in the form of illness, natural climate change, disasters such as earthquake, floods, financial hardship, failed relationships, or un-fulfilled expectation of the community.  When people are confronted with such challenges belief structures fail. Faith vanishes and is replace with hopelessness.

When external labels, roles, health, or physical objects are no longer able to support the needs than new set of beliefs are required. Faith in the Self as more than the physical offers resilience and stability. Understanding that people are spiritual beings (souls) on a human journey, and that each one has their own unique part to play, allows souls to go beyond the action of others. Understanding that the soul is the infinitesimal points of conscious light energy the moves the body allows for faith to be internalized and trust in the self develops.

The power and strength to change and challenge one’s own belief systems from physical to an internal spiritual one, before the catastrophic challenges occur, an external energy source is required. There is only One Spiritual Being who can provide and sustaining the power and strength needed for transformation. “You say with faith and intoxication that the One who is sustaining you is the Supreme Soul”.
