A horrible war had devastated the Earth. A few hardy individuals survived and wanted to help others.

We heard the rumbling; we hid in a cave. 

DESPERATION

The longer we were there; it felt like a grave. 

DEPRESSION

The dreadful noise ceased; we tried to be brave.

ANTICIPATION

The damaged countryside - a terrestrial tidal wave.  

REVULSION

The war had surprised everyone; did we misbehave?

CONFUSION

So many had died already; who could we possibly save?
