Grey Thoughts

View Original

Continuity

Hazy sun rises

Over the bay

Swooping seagulls circle

Vulnerable prey

Brine scents the air

Calm sea glistens

Gentle bustle surrounds

Harbour awakens

Cafés open doors

Waiters share ancedotes

In the distance

Fishing boats float

Nature, traditional life,

Amalgamation of two

He thinks of ancestors

Experiencing same view

Leans on cane

Breathes deeply

Ageing spirit warmed,

Comforted by continuity
