Bright Things...
Bright Things Happen Too
This poem describes coming from a place of rage to a new mindset where the concerns for the time are sorted out.

She’s spitting old chips and there’s a balloon
Of hot air somewhere between her larynx and phoenix
That’s causing a big problem.
All that filthy rubbish, it’s percolating
Something about “she said,” “ he did”
“They said.” Other people supposedly being the cause
Of this torrid inner decline. But it’s not true.
Who can let her know it will pass?
There won’t be any more hostages
It’s a new day, let it gladly roll out
In joy. Smell the bush trees, yellow flowers,
Let the firefighters go home
They aren’t important here anymore.
Tell the managers to go for lunch
The critics and the smart manipulators,
They’re all sacked.
She’s filling up on clean oxygen.
It’s love. In a zone of self reflection
The bullies are outed.
The fierce fires gladly extinguished
Where air feels light and fresh, riveting
After the dust storm, the skirmish.
She navigates, smiles inside outside
As something bright is about to begin
