Bermuda Triangle

A poem about Kalypso, and strange things

————

In the rearview mirror, the Bermuda Triangle

the Satnav is going crazy, enchanting siren songs could be heard while

gray, foggy clouds gathered on the horizon.

The earplugs could not be found, and

the whirlpool of events continued to grow; no land in sight -

still no Satnav, and Calypso throws

bleached white bones; a deep voice speaks;

then the last pale bone falls, and Calypso laughs

into the dark stormy sky,

and the sirens continue to complain.

Howling. Roaring.

And fate turns in circles, then suddenly it is there, the saving silence, and

Calypso collects her bones again - the sky now turns blue.

In the rearview mirror at the end of the sky, the horizon can finally be seen again,

and Calypso extinguishes the candles while a shipwreck sinks quietly to the bottom

of the sea.

*Καλυψώ Kalypsṓ, greek, κάλυψις kálypsis, hidden, behind the veil, mentioned in the Odyssey, described as nymph or sea goddess, well known from the movie Pirates of The Caribbean.
