Welcoming The Day
Darkness of night is
Ending, dawn's light
Barely seen, she walks
The harbourfront,
Wrapped in a damp
Coat of gray fog, mist
Rising from the waters
Cover the thoughts
In her mind, soothing
Her as buoys clang and
Fog horns sound familiar
Tunes, add in the lapping
Of wavelets on the rocks
And this is her favourite
Playlist, harbour lamps
Dim as fog dissipates,
Removing her private
World so with a sigh
She turns toward a
Nearby streetside café
Where morning coffee
And buttery croissants
Await to fuel the next
Steps of her day.
